An important part of the SCA game is that whoever wins the tournament gets to be crowned king and preside over feasts and court. There are many lesser titles and offices as well, all loosely based on the English or French feudal system.
For the newcomer, it can be positively bewildering. Not only do you have to learn everyone's stage names, but depending on their job you need to remember to call this one "Your Excellency" and that one "Your Grace."
